I had to watch

I had to watch Alison today. I wasn’t really in the mood to have to have her with us for the day, but I was a good sport and did it anyway. We went to Let’s Play in the morning (playgroup at church). J was not very happy at all, he kept crying. Those teeth I think. Alison was aslo pretty quiet, she mostly watched from the sidelines, but near the end she took a ride in the little tykes car. J was so tired he went to nap as soon as we got home, and Alison went down to nap with him readily. J however, was not happy when he woke up. Lunch was next, Alison didn’t want to eat anything, even when I offered her toast. I then took her with us to J’s therapy. She pretty much just sat off to the side, but she did seem to like the toys in the waiting room. All in all I can’t complain. But I was happy when her mom came to get her after school. I know it sounds like she was a pain to have around, but really, her mom is only paying me one dollar a day to look after her, and she has the nerve to give me a list of things I need to do for her…sigh. I must be a saint…

Have you guessed yet?

Alison is R’s doll. I had to take pictures to proove to my daughter that I did take her everywhere…

Cousins

Do I need to say how cute they are?

Things we’ve learned today

Well R learned a few things today. First of all, she learned how to do the ‘bat mask’, courtesy of Uncle B, as shown in the picture. She also seemed to manage to do a one-eyed wink. She’s been trying to do that for a while. These are all important life skills!! We are so proud.

They are here!

We are very lucky to have relatives B&V with us for a while. And we are most delighted to also have baby Z along! Z had a bath tonight, and let us know that she really didn’t like it. R however loved her bath. R is also loving the attention she is getting from Uncle B and Auntie V. They are troopers, and are delighting her by answering all her questions!

Happy New Year! – Year of the Rat

Happy New Year all, we are welcoming in the Year of the rat. We had supper at one of our favourite restaurants, and our favourite Korean waiter wished us a happy new year with chocolate chinese coins. It made R’s day!

R says

So the weather here has been just crazy. We’ve had lots of snow, then it all melts, and we have spring temperatures, the a week later we get another snow storm. This has been going on since early December. So today was another spectacular storm. There was a lot of snow overnight, with freezing rain, so the roads were a mess this morning. Things were a little better throughout the day. We went to R’s kindermusik class around 4 today, and when we left at 5, there was quite the storm in progress. It was snowing so very hard, that all the windows in the car were completely covered in no time while I waited for traffic lights to change. It was also dark, and visibility was really poor. R asked me in the car if I was happy, I told her no, no really, as all the cars on the road, and the icy and snow were making me cranky. So she replies, “That’s why we need an airplane mummy”. So true my darling!

Care Group

We had a nice lunch/afternoon with our care group on Sunday. Our hosts have a skating rink in their back yard, so R got to put her skates on again. Know what? No crying about it today! She was just happy. She used her little pushy thing for a while, but would also leave it, and take baby steps on the ice. N was delighted to help R out around the ice. She is a very good skater herself. They had a good time together, and R loved learning from her. Well, I’m not quite telling the truth. There were tears, but they happened at the end of skating when all the other kids went into the outdoor hot tub, and I had to break it to our daughter that I had not brought her swim suit. Big melt down there. Anyways. I’m thrilled at her skating progress! Oh, and I should mention that us bad parents did put her helmet on abour 30 seconds after she got on the ice! I did snap the picture first though.

Princess

Yes, it seems our girl likes dressing up. And the favourite dress up clothes these days are princess dresses usually complete with tiara and jewlery. She loves this purple dress. I made it years ago, and I am glad to see it finally gettting used. At least we have been able to stay away from the trademark “Disney” princesses.

Lots of ponies

Yes, we have 4 poinies today. R wanted ‘lots’ so I decided to humour her. Still, as you can see, she wiggles so much that getting any sort of straight parts was nigh impossible.
