Too many things…

I mentioned I was sewing like a maniac recently. I am still all fired up, and I don’t know why. I have at least 6 projects on the go at the moment. I have so many UFOs (un-finished objects) to get done. I have promised myself to finish at least 3 by the weekend!!

UPDATE: I’ve finished 4 UFOs!

Sigh….these tights have seen better days

A very sad event has taken place today. My favourite tights (read my favourite pair of R’s tights) had an unfortunate accident today. I noticed the HUGE hole at lunch time. R says she fell at school. I am so bummed. What great tights eh?? I sure wish I had a pair.

Daddy’s Birthday

Daddy’s birthday. Ah. We had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant, and went home for daddy’s favourite, Coconut cream pie.

Swirlies

R is drawing everything with added swirlies today. I couldn’t figure out why so I asked her. She told me she saw K’s name written in swirlies in the sponge bob book….huh?? Well sure enough she shows me an old notebook we inherited from cousins, and lone behold cousin K wrote both her and her sister’s names in swirlies. Thanks K!!

So what is this?

R set this up on the upstairs landing, and I asked her what is was. She replied “The Penny Invention”. She showed me, you take a penny (she used a dime) and start at the end, and pass the penny along from object to object. It was quite interesting. What a creative little mind.

Raptor show

We saw a great show at our public library. “Raptors” is actually the family name for Birds of Prey. A person from a ‘Raptor Conservatory’ came to the library to educate us about these great birds. We saw a Great horned owl, an american Kestral, a red-tailed hawk, and a Golden eagle. The picture above is of the Golden eagle, very large and impressive. Quite a show, they are beautiful birds.

My baby turns 5

I can hardly believe it. By baby girl turns 5 years old today. I can still remember her first birthday, the first time she had ice cream. Wow. Time flies. Happy birthday darling daughter!

Sewing like a maniac

I have been on a sewing binge lately. I suppose as binges go, it’s a pretty good one to be on. This quilt is what has been keeping me motivated. I had ironed on the daisies months earlier, and now stitched around them, and put all the blocks together. Finally I got my fabric for the boarder in the mail (Yes, I order from on-line fabric stores). I am excited to see this project almost done!
