Halloween

Happy Halloween. I’ll post some more pictures when I get a chance. R had on her medieval princess dress, and J was just J. He did come out with us for the walk. J is fussy now, so this has got to be short!

No passport….

Well, despite being at the passport office twice, we won’t be getting J’s passport any time soon. So we have officially cancelled both parts of our trip. R is disappointed about Disney, and daddy and I are super bummed about the cruise mostly, but Disney as well. Oh well. Hopefully we can all go somewhere after Christmas.

Doesn’t he look like some pictures of Mother Mary with the blue bundle wrap??

Outside

We still like to get outside in the evenings, despite the coolness, and the fact that it is getting darker a lot sooner. Thankfully, we also have crazy neighbours that like to to this with us. So R bikes up and down the sidewalk with neighbours B & C. Baby J also has a friend in baby C next door, although she is an older woman by a few months. Still, it is nice to be outside in the crisp weather.

Passport anyone??

We are attempting to get J a passport. I realize it will likely not work, but we had to try before we officially cancelled our trip. R is disappointed that Disney might not happen now, but she does seem to understand why. How cute is our little guy??

Filling out your sleeper

This is our little J man. He is wearing the same sleeper as he was wearing the day we met him for the first time. He fills it out a lot more, in fact when he stretches, he is right at the end. It is super cute though, rhino feet, and the small words say “I’m in charge”. So true.

Pumpkin patch fun

We had a nice time at the Pumpkin patch today. We met our care group there. We picked out pumpkins, then after stowing them in our car, we went to the corn maze. You know it really pays to be last when you are going through a maze with a group. By the time we (J, I and daddy) caught up with the group, the kids at the front had already checked out the options ahead, and had found the dead ends. Saved us some walking really. It was a lovely day, a bit cool, but very sunny. J slept the whole time in the sling. Of course at dinner time he decided that he had been angelic enough, and had quite the crying spell. It must have really tired him out (it went until about 8:30). He slept from about 9pm until 3:30am! The best part was that he went back down really easily, and then slept until a bit after 7am. Way to go!

Here is our little peanut today

Here is our peanut today. He has been very good today, as we went on a number of errands. Yesterday i almost used the “C” word. (Colic for those of you without babies). Today however he’s been pretty good, until about an hour ago when I mentioned how little he has cried today. Then he started, but still settled within half an hour.
I know the blanket is a bit pink, but it is one of the first blankets we used on R in China. Ladybugs are fondly known as good luck symbols in Chinese adoption circles. So, despite the pink inside, I’ll still be using it on J.

And what a Thanksgiving Sunday it was

We are so very thankful. We introduced J to church today. He was welcomed by everyone. His arrival was also mentioned 3 times during the service! Once in the introductions, once in the sermon, and once in the prayer time. It is so wonderful to be part of such a loving community. We are blessed.

We are now a family of 4!!

It is with great joy we announce the adoption of Joseph Wade Hecht-Enns, little brother for Rebecca. Joseph was born on September 9th, and came home October 8th. We are positively thrilled, and so very, very thankful.

I will try to get more pictures up, but things are a lot more complicated with a new born around! Time seems to slip away faster than ever. Not to mention the fact that I’ve filled up our hard drive already with picturs…Dearest daddy needs to add more memory!
