J walking

That smart daddy, he got J to walk today, several laps of the kitchen! Most importantly, he stood up on his own to do it!

Touring

We went on one of these funky amphibious tours today. It was a good time, we saw lots of the city.

Walking around

Why yes, it is a big shoe! The very fun sales lady insisted he try this on. Then he gave her his big spiel, “you know, I never understand when places advertise “Big Shoe sales” he says, why would you want a really big shoe?” She thought my husband was hilarious!

Footloose and kid-free

Currently in Ottawa with dear husband. My lovely parents are looking after the kids. While I miss them like crazy, it is just de-lightful to be completely on our own!! And we went on this spiffy looking airplane!

Belated birthday

We had a secondary celebration today with the grandparents who were all gone for J’s actual birthday. J was quite delighted to eat the chocolate rocks again that were on his cake (we froze it). Sugar certainly sends him spinning. He quite enjoyed blowing out his candles again!

Day at the park

We were at the park today and met a friend of the family. The kids had a good time, as you can see!

Party Zone

I must say I was so proud that the little J man had no trouble whatsoever blowing out his birthday candles (after I moved them closer to him). He did all 3 candles!

And I need to point out. I had to assemble this gift, and J watched me very carefully as I screwed in 7 screws. When I was done, the first thing he did was pick up the screwdriver, carefully line up the screwdriver with the screw I had just put in, and very precisely turn it…I’m very afraid. He seems to have a natural aptitude for this!

First Day of School

Ready, set, go!! So far so good, she likes school and likes her teacher. She is a creature of habit and likes the predictability of it all!

Smurfs

So R was thrilled to find my old collection of Smurfs at Grandma’s house today. Hard to believe I played with these little dudes around 30 years ago, but everything old is new again I suppose!

Go Wild!

Go Wild! We went on an adventure today. It was quite fun, aside from R being terrified by the goats… Here are some of the pictures.
