{"id":156,"date":"2007-03-27T16:21:38","date_gmt":"2007-03-27T16:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hecht-enns.com\/?p=156"},"modified":"2007-03-29T20:27:31","modified_gmt":"2007-03-30T00:27:31","slug":"yup-thats-my-child","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thingsthatgrowinmygarden.com\/?p=156","title":{"rendered":"Yup, that&#8217;s my child&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well I should have posted this yesterday, but I just didn&#8217;t get to it.\u00c2\u00a0 The picture above was taken well before this incident!<\/p>\n<p>R came home from her ususal morning with Oma and Opa.\u00c2\u00a0 She had a strange expression on her face as she walked in.\u00c2\u00a0 (ok normally she has a slightly strange expression, a mix of &#8216;I had a really good time &#8211; but I still am slightly mad at your for dropping me off, so I&#8217;ll be just a little bit happy and a little bit mad expression)&#8230;This expression was different.\u00c2\u00a0 Then she says to me quite calmly &#8220;I have a carrot up my nose&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 I look up at Oma and she says what did she say?\u00c2\u00a0 I tell Oma that R said she had a carrot up her nose, and then R must have seen the disbelief on my face as I said &#8220;a carrot wouldn&#8217;t fit up your nose honey&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 She promtly burst into hysterical tears for about 30 seconds, then calmed down and gave Oma &#038; Opa a kiss and said goodbye.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 After they leave, I take her to the couch and try to see this &#8216;carrot&#8217;.\u00c2\u00a0 I can&#8217;t see anything, but again she starts crying and insists there is one&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 I get a kleenex and get her to blow.\u00c2\u00a0 Nothing comes out&#8230;.She&#8217;s crying, and I&#8217;m not sure what to do!\u00c2\u00a0 Thank goodness at that moment I heard the garage door go up, Daddy was home.<\/p>\n<p>I take my crying daughter to the door, and we greet daddy.\u00c2\u00a0 He takes R to the couch and tells me he does see something, Waaaayyyy up in there!\u00c2\u00a0 He searches for tweezers as I try to calm R down.\u00c2\u00a0 He returns, and she sees the tweezers and starts hysterically crying!\u00c2\u00a0 We argue a bit that they are really too big, and then I decided to get up and call the Walk in clinic and ask if they can deal with this, or weather we should go to emerg&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0Before I can call, Albert yells over, I got it.\u00c2\u00a0 I come over, and yes, it is a LARGE piece of carrot.. I should have taken a picture, but I didn&#8217;t! (you can thank me later!).\u00c2\u00a0 Turns out Daddy is a genious at solving these types of problems&#8230;no tweezers used, and if you want the gorey details of how he did it, please e-mail him! <a href=\"mailto:albert@rim.net\">albert@rim.net<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s really too gross to post in this public forum!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0So this is the 3rd thing that has become stuck (or close to stuck) in R&#8217;s orafaces&#8230; Chickpeas in the ears (Auntie L&#8217;s favourite) Dried corn up the nose, and now a chunk of carrot up the nose&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 yup you&#8217;d better keep your eyes on my kid!<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em><font face=\"Times New Roman\" size=\"3\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well I should have posted this yesterday, but I just didn&#8217;t get to it.\u00c2\u00a0 The picture above was taken well before this incident!
