Not much is new here. We’ve had some nice warm days, so it is getting me in the garden clean up mood. That is a good thing, cause those of you that know, our garden is pretty big. We are also working on dethatching the lawn. I bought a new de-thatching rake for Daddy. It really works well on the lawn, but man is that tiring.
Mostly I try to keep busy and not think about how our adoption has stalled again. The longer hours of sunlight definately help.
Yes, the pita is as big as her head / My first mosquito bite

Well. R was hungry today at lunch. She desparately wanted a pita/wrap with “lots of olives”. So we met daddy for lunch at a great place called “the Grill” and I got her a pita. Yes, it was the size of her head. And you know what? She ate it all!!! Ok, there was a bit of pits filling stuff that dropped out, but she ate that huge thing! Wow. I didn’t know that was physically possible.
No adoption news, we’re still trying to digest the last crappy news. Anyways. On the up side the weather was lovely today, about 16 degrees. I got a bit of yard work done, then sat outside with my tripod and super zoomy lens trying to take pictures of the group of cedar waxwings in our crabapple tree. As I type I’m still sitting outside, but man i’m heading in cause I’m getting bit by multiple mosquitos! More than once since I typed the title.
I’ve coined a new term. Swinty is a combination of sweaty + linty. Hence swinty. This applies to darling Zoya. She has lovely rolls under her chin, and she gets all sweaty, then combined with lint, it becomes swinty! She’s also got serious swinty in her hands as she seems to clutch her hands tightly. So, feel free to use my term!
I’ve put off writing this post

I put a cute picture here, as things were going well for most of the day. This is R’s friend G, they take dance together, and we hung out afterwards eating rasisns, goldfish and cheerios. (the girls that is!) Gloomy news came later on.
So, this is a bad news adoption update. It seems that despite the fact that Zambia is sending referrals to us (The agency), The Ontario Ministry of Youth and Family Services will not let our Agency give them to us. Their reasoning is that if there is any sort of suspension in Zambian adoptions, they will not let us proceed (despite the fact that our Agency is exempt from these suspensions in Zambia’s eyes). So this sucks. We are waiting then for the ‘Official” suspension to be lifted in Zambia, at which point Ontario will allow KidLink (our Agency) to release referrals. (which we think they have, or are getting in the next week or so).
We are worried, as the 90 day fostering period can only start once we have accepted the referral. Which means we are just getting delayed longer. The agency is hoping to start the foster period ticking while we are waiting, but that’s a big IF. So, keep us in your thoughts and prayers, we need it.
