Open Air Museum

We got up, had breakfast, and went to the “Freilicht museum”. Essentially Doon Crossroads –alla Germany. Lots of historical buildings to walk through. R was very happy because we rented her a little wagon. So she didn’t complain about being tired, as she crawled in when she wanted to. She also spent a lot of time just pulling the wagon around. She wore her Hello Kitty Tiara most of the day. It’s sad really, because I didn’t even notice it until now as I was reviewing the pictures I had taken!

From one of the buildings there was a back door that opened onto a field. The dandelions are just finishing here, but they also have this cute daisy-like flower that is blooming in the grass now. It is all quite pretty. Anyways, R sees this field and goes running out singing “The hillls are alive with the sound of music” as loud as she can, no joke. It was so very sweet.

We had a quick lunch there, at a “Wurst bude”, and there were some old carnival rides. They were roped off. A gentleman who worker there came over and asked Rebecca if she wanted to try the swing, and later the Merri-go-round too. The swing dates from 1928, and the Merry-go-round from 1930.

Rebecca, what a nice thing to do, to go and sing that song in the field there! We are so proud of you, Rebecca!
