It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times

Ah. The good news and the bad news. Let`s start with the good news. We are all back from Mexico, and fairly healthy. It was H-O-T. That`s the summary. Anyways. Safe travels, and good times. R started a camp today, put on by the local swim club. She was a little nervous, but the good news was she came out with a huge smile, and “Mummy, I had a great time!!” That was wonderful to hear. I made her have a nap, with the hour time change and late bed time yesterday (plus an 8:30 start time!) and while getting her to quiet down was NASTY, when she woke she was sin such a good mood, and we had a lovely cuddle session. Also, this evening I so very much enjoyed feeding a baby J his bottle, rocking him gently. He smelled so good, fresh from a bath, smelling like Aveeno…mmm yummy. He was trying to fight sleep, so I got to watch his eyes drift close, then open, then cross slowly as they drifted shut again. Good times… Grandpa also came over for supper. I actually managed to get to the local market and cook a full dinner! The first corn on the cob of the season! J enjoyed gnawing on the cob.

And the bad you ask? Well, today was the first day that daddy started back to work after his parental leave…yes, he’s been home with us since the little J-man joined our family. It was sad. We have had such good times together, and just lovely being together as a family…It was sad to see it come to an end, but I realize that we were so very privileged to be able to take that time together…

I will try to post pictures from Mexico soon.
